Shipping Log - Week 16 - We are FAST!

Hey All!

I have been looking forward to making this announcement for a long time.

Today, we released LemonSlice-2.1 Flash. It’s soooo much FASTER. In fact, it’s the fastest interactive avatar model across most key metrics. Read about it here. Try it here.

These gains were not easy to get. The entire team obsessed over every millisecond here, and it's a small miracle that we were able to achieve these numbers given the size of our model.

1. 650ms faster from LemonSlice-2.0 to LemonSlice-2.1. This brought time-to-first-frame down from around 1350ms to 700ms. Some of the LemonSlice-2.1 speedups were not officially shipped until today (even though LemonSlice-2.1 was released last week).

2. 210ms faster from LemonSlice-2.1 to LemonSlice-2.1 Flash. This brings our time-to-first-frame down from 700ms to around <500ms.

LemoSlice-2.1 Flash is available to our enterprise customers. Unfortunately, it does currently cost us more to run, and so will be more expensive per minute.

Personally, I am most excited for the speedup with LemonSlice-2.1. That’s a speedup factor of almost 2x. And everybody has access to this starting today.
